The day began slowly, with some folks struggling to find the meeting point due to navigation app glitches. To add to the adventure, we had to help some stranded strangers winch their truck out of a sticky situation near our deflation point.
Once we finally got moving, the intensity of our warm-up set the stage for the rest of the drive, pushing our juniors to use their accelerators more than ever before.
The first 30 minutes went smoothly until we encountered our first tire pop-out of the day. Big trucks and KO2s are a perfect recipe for debeading tires in soft sand.
After a quick fix, we were back on the move, tackling bigger slopes and bowls. It wasn’t long before another KO2 tire needed attention, but this time, we managed a speedy repair and got back on schedule in no time.
As we entered the final hour of our drive, we hit the morning’s highlight: massive bowls and dune climbs, followed by a quick rest atop the dunes.
With the day’s challenges nearly behind us, the convoy headed toward the exit, seizing the opportunity to increase our speed and enjoy the untouched slopes, making the sand fly!
Fulfilling our day’s objectives and reaching our planned exit 15 minutes ahead of schedule, it was a perfectly executed drive. It was fantastic to see our new juniors progressing nicely and conquering the Nahil area like pros. Catch you all on the slopes soon!
It was a small convoy this morning with only two cars, but this setup has a special bit of joy as it means further, higher and faster. As intended, we made 75km offroader style and the drive felt like a 2 for 1 as we nearly made twice the normal distance.
