Extracurricular
After a successful morning of back-to-school driving, it was time to switch gears for some afternoon off-road action.
We headed out to an old-school spot on the Dubai-Abu Dhabi border, drawn by the promise of untouched crests. Since the heavy rains back in April, we weren’t sure what kind of growth we’d find on the dunes, but we were excited to explore.
While the vegetation had indeed thickened, we were pumped to discover that our main playground—those smooth, rolling dunes—remained pristine. Stretch after stretch of long, sloping sand awaited our fresh tire tracks. After what felt like hours of thrilling fun, we reached our rest stop, a serene spot in the Gahf forest of Faqaa.
As the sun began to dip, we squeezed in a few more rounds of challenging crests and switches. Finally, with a satisfied smile on our faces, we made our way to the exit, inflated our tires, and headed home after an epic day in the dunes.
