Advanced Training lesson 3
Sunday Morning Madness: Lesson 3 with Desert Fellas to the Rescue!
Lesson 3 was nothing short of wild! The mission? Conquer 100km of intense cresting maneuvers, from long, smooth slopes to tricky, bumpy dunes—all at a faster pace than usual. But before we could even hit the sand, the desert decided to throw some surprises our way.
As we arrived at the deflation point, a group of adventurers in distress needed a recovery truck. No problem—Desert Fellas to the rescue! With their car loaded up, our convoy finally set off. Yet, just 15 minutes into our warmup, we got flagged down by another group stuck in the sand. We jumped into action, helped them out, and were on our way… or so we thought.
Not even at the exit yet, we ran into another stranded crew! After lending a hand once more, we realized we’d already racked up three recoveries in the first 40 minutes. Talk about a busy morning! But with the dust settled, we rebooted and got back to business, determined to complete the day’s challenges.
Starting at 2nd December and making our way to Badayer, we were properly warmed up after some epic cresting at Big Red. Next stop? Iftar Bowl, where things really started to heat up. We tackled massive climbs, nailed some impressive switches, and made a few adrenaline-pumping runs at Super Bowl, hitting the east, north, and west faces to check off most of the day’s objectives—all while staying on schedule!
Despite the delays helping out our fellow adventurers, we still managed to cover over 70km and, most importantly, complete all the advanced challenges to prepare us for Lesson 4.
Huge thanks to the team for an action-packed, successful morning! The pace was rapid, and we’re on track to finish strong. Keep it up, Desert Fellas!
