We gathered at the meeting point on time as the sun rose over Fossil Rock – setting the scene for the mornings drive.
Considering the cold and occasionally wet weather earlier in the week, the sand Nahil was unexpectedly dry and extremely soft.
The air at the meeting point of todays drive was filled with a mix of excitement and trepidation, since we had never started a drive from this location and stories about how challenging it could be abounded.
The humidity level had picked up earlier in the week and failed to let up. This made tire deflation during Saturday’s morning drive a bit of a sticky affair.
The Long Road endurance drive attracted a small group of seasoned Offroaders.
The meeting point for today’s drive could easily have been mistaken for an off-road jamboree, and the sea of multicolored flags gave the area an almost festive feel.
Final countdown was dedicated to our three junior trainees who were not able to attend the final drive of Basic Training.
Meeting in Nazwa today, at the same location as our friends from Basic training 5 was quite refreshing, especially since the Basic Training 6 convoy was so small.
The dunes around Nahel looked deceptively dry and soft considering that the area had receive a fair amount of rainfall prior to our arrival and during tire deflation.
