Sundowners
Sundowners drive was dedicated to our newly graduated Junior Level drivers who had recently completed the intensive six week long Desert Fellas Basic Off-road training program.
With everyone on time and deflated we manage to start the drive a few minutes before shedule.
The humidity level had picked up earlier in the week and failed to let up. This made tire deflation during Saturday’s morning drive a bit of a sticky affair.
Another beautiful morning in the desert and the first Offroad Discovery of the season.
Back in the saddle was upgraded from a Junior drive to an “easy off-roader” drive since all the drivers in today’s convoy had completed Desert Fellas advanced training.
The sand in Al Faqaa was unusually soft for this time of year.
Basic training 2 convoy had anticipated tire deflation in total darkness. However, much to our surprise, sunrise over Al Qudra desert was so early that the convoy arrived at the meeting point in almost full daylight.
Road Ranger started as a nice gloomy morning, the rain showers started when we were deflating. We performed our safety briefing and we started moving towards our entry point.
A beautiful clear sky with persimmon coloured sky greeted us this morning for the first lesson of Basic Training.
