SUPERSET
A super start to the weekend with a solid workout to get the endorphins flowing.
With a full house, anticipation for the drive was high and whilst preparing ourselves and vehicles it was a great opportunity for the more seasoned juniors to welcome our new graduates into the fold and wider community.
Warming up was an opportunity to practice our side sloping techniques and convoy driving disciplines preparing ourselves for the heavier challenges lying in wait. Navigating through a notorious technical area which is becoming greener due to the climate, all drivers were on point, especially the longer wheel base cars clearing the area with ease.
With all teeth fillings somehow intact and coffee still in our flasks it was time to take a break to refuel, socialize and enjoy the pleasant temperatures.
Now it was time to get to work and with superbowl locked in our sights we climbed higher after each repetition, the convoy flowing nicely we transitioned around its base building momentum after each set. A stuck called out on the radio meant there was no rest, at least for Ryan anyway who spung into action with textbook rope recovery.
Ok so now it was time for a break with one of our passengers not feeling well our support team safely escorted him to the nearby exit to cool off for some post workout nutrition.
With the temperatures rising and the thought of fresh Karak tea waiting for us at the exit it was time for the final stint, surfing around iftar bowl to the melody of V8’s and V6’s, nothing was stopping the Desert Fella train getting to its destination.
A superb drive by all, you guys rocked it! And I look forward to more drives in the future. A special shout out to Ryan for keeping eyes on us at all times, Harun for being a great second lead and our anchor Matt for keeping the convoy in tow.
See you on the next one.
