SUNBURST SAFARI
As first light broke over the meeting point, we could see these epic dunes and the challenges our team of off-roaders were about to conquer.
Warming up we made our tracks across the sides of these vast open dune formations. The sand not too soft provided us with the extra traction needed to scale these beasts and make the high-level crosses. With the sun still low in the sky made for some hair-raising passes so it was time to take a break to give our engines and eyes a rest.
Pushing on we headed towards Nagara flowing over the crests of these lower lying dune formations. Warmed up and with our muscle memory working in overdrive we searched for some sharper crests, a few second try’s were needed and adjustment on the approach angle carried out under Marshall Marks expert eye.
Reaching Nagara we probed a little as not to wake this sleeping giant before making a single pass from the east. The sand fairly chewed up but with no other convoys in sight, meant we could pick our lines and stay on track.
One of our fellas reported he’d almost burnt through a full tank of fuel! so it was time to take another break for some banter and enjoy the pleasant temperatures.
Low on fuel but not adrenaline we pushed on flowing through the landscape and flattening any ridge in our path before a last burst of the throttle for some high-speed fun to the exit.
Thank you all for the great company and brilliant drive, Teddy good to have you back in the saddle again! and special thanks to Anders (SL) and Marhsall Marc for the support.
See you on the next one.
