Speed UP
In this sequel to the “UP series” we had some interesting events. I’d like to say, as usual.
We started great, after warming up we picked up the pace of the ride. It was nice to see the excitement on the faces of our fellas on first break.
Every time we learn something new, and this time we learned that a semi-finished product from some popular workshops is not something that will bring us safety neither good publicity for them.
It’s sad when you have a large off-road community and some workshops that are obviously more money driven than safety and being supportive.
This event took us some time and one of our members had to finish the ride earlier (see the photo) than we had planned. After we took him out of the desert we continued our route.
With a few exercises, we called the day and devoted ourselves to the rest of the extended weekend.
A positive atmosphere and progress in performance marked this ride.
Thanks Mike for second leading and Javier for amazing support as usual.
See you next time. Happy UAE National Day!

💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 Thank you Marko it was a wonderful day
Every drive I say this is the most exciting drive I’ve ever driven before. Then when I go for the next one I change my mind.
Today I realized why Mario was pushing us since day one to follow the track!
Today o understood why it’s extremely important to follow the exact track, or you will let anyone driving behind you suffer and put him in danger.
I appreciate your efforts Marko, Javier and Mike for the second lead.
Today’s drive with Marko and the guys was absolute pleasure, I couldn’t remove the smile from my face! As the title says it was about the speed and momentum, at times hitting 80+Kmh mark, although we tackled few technical areas as well. I never thought that white sands of qudra could be this fun. We implemented what we learned, communicated well and almost did lot stop. Proud to drive with DF Team! Thank you Marko for arranging this trip and all the guys who attended. ✌️
Another great drive today and, as the title suggests, the speed was certainly up! Physically shaking with the adrenaline rush! Also excellent learning experience with the radio practice and focusing on following distance and keeping to the track. I not only had fun but I learnt a lot today so thanks for that Marko. Thanks also to Javier and to Mike for the support. Always a pleasure driving with Desert Fellas.
Hi team! I finally got my skid plate sorted and wanted to give a quick update, so the blame for the shoddy workmanship isn’t placed on the wrong party.
First off, thanks for the exciting drive. I think it might have been a bit too much for me after not driving for several months. I definitely had a few adrenaline filled moments while trying to keep up with the convoy. Definitely something to work on.
Okay, it turns out that the muppets at Trading Enterprises put the front axle skid plate on over top of the sump protection plate when they reinstalled it. I had them add an additional intercooler for the transmission and that’s when it happened. I went there and totally blew my tip since it was such an obvious mistake and anyone with half a brain should have seen the axle plate sticking out like a blade in the front. They’ve repaired the damage, but I’ve lost all confidence in their abilities.
It wasn’t Ironman at all. They installed it correctly and luckily I had photo proof of the original install.
Now I’m looking forward to return to the desert and get back in the groove. Thanks, again, everyone for your patience and understanding when we finally noticed the skid plate damage.
Cheers, Dirk
