Sandfly
This was quite nice morning. We started on time, had several technical issues, but we made a very nice trip.
This morning we were enjoying straight cresting for warm up, than side sloping variations with different challenges.
We did many repetitions for exercises to give a chance to everyone to gain confidence.
Several drivers were out of the sand for some time and the difference was noticeable.
Towards the end of today’s drive, all drivers caught the pace and our convoy finally looked much better.
Personal feedback follows.
Thank you Drew and Preggy for excellent support today.
Please share your experience from today’s ride.
Thank you and looking forward to next one.

Smooth drive with good group and team
Great having an early Saturday morning drive again! I missed out last weekend as was traveling, nice to see the sand softening up. Thanks Marko, Drew and Preggy for the support.
The trip was a good learning trip! With some serious humps and bumps while side sloping! Good to see the improvement in some fellas with just a little tire pressure adjustment, showed how important your initial set up is!
A nice taste of off-roader level mid trip also was a good experience, looking forward next time on the sand!
P.S. thanks again for the trip Marko and hope you had a great day wetting the little one’s head!
yes it was great day … thanks 😎
All Fellas arrived on time and were eager to start the drive. The weather was amazing and visibility was much better than initially anticipated.
The convoy got moving to a bit of a shaky start, with a few second tries within the first 15 minutes of the drive. But this was expected since some of the Juniors were off the sand for a while and the warm up was just one straight crest after another.
Today’s drive was dedicated to side sloping. I had flashbacks of my own first side sloping lesson (as Rathica’s passenger in our beloved Prado). It was pleasing to see an improvement in the skill level of the entire convoy in just 2 hours. There are still a few fellas that need to get to know their vehicle better and master the nuances of accelerator control. With a few more drives and attention to working on those skills which need development, side sloping will become second nature. Like anything in life that’s worth mastering, off-road driving also needs practice and an awareness of what you need to improve. Pay attention to the lessons, learn from your mistakes and you’ll be driving like a pro sooner than you think.
Thanks for the great lead Marko. Nice job in second lead Drew.
Have a great week Fellas and looking forward to seeing you back on the sand soon.
Great drive today!
Took a little while for my confidence to return after not being in the desert for a while, but towards the end I was getting more relaxed and starting to embrace and enjoy the drive more.
Still have a lot to learn and a long way to go, but with the great advice and guidance from the fellas I will get there.
Can’t wait for the next drive !
Nice Saturday morning drive, a good learning curve with the increased level from Marko for the Juniors. It was a first for me to be the second lead. I had to concentrate a bit more with the communication and technique to try and keep the driving line correct for the team to follow!! I still enjoyed it though.
I agree with Mick and Preggy, the initial set up is key before you leave in the convoy. A few PSI in the tyres can make all the difference when your pushing your car to the limits on the side crests and steep inclines/declines. One thing I would say from my experience is don’t be afraid to push your car. It can take it. Its always better the car takes a little beating, rather than the driver!!
Thanks All, see you all next time
Great drive, I have been away for a while and coming back was definitely tough. Lead, second lead and sweeper have been amazing and super patient ( I can only imagine how hard it could have been for your guys). As usual, I loved how you guys made us repeat and repeat the challenges until we mastered them, this is what makes me proud of this group.
Confidence level highly increased, can’t wait for the next drives.
Thanks!
It was an amazing trip as always. It is great to see how committed everyone is.
Thank you Marko, Drew, Preggy and the rest of the team for the amazing spirit and organization.
It was an amazing ride with some great challenging in Sharjah. It was an unusual start on Saturday, rather than Friday with an announced fog on this day but it turned out to be a great day and we manage to start just on time! The best moment of this trip for me is how senior drivers never give up on junior driver until everyone completes the challenge.
Great drive as usual guys, the area was new to me and i really enjoyed exploring with you all. Apologies for the delay in the tire change… Also, for not having my Jack and board with me… promise I’ll have it with me next time…. Looking forward to being out again with you all soon 🚙💨
