Pick Up The Pace

A lovely morning with everyone on time for sunrise and drive. We didn’t have any prospects on the drive so decision was made to increase the lvl to Jr.

We started the briefing, set convoy order, did our radio check and got moving to warm up. With some nice and basic side sloping and an easy snatch recovery under our belts, we made our way to the technical area.

This is where the fun started, immediately the track had to be changed due to soft sand and only a few meters later a technical stuck occurred in a very tight space between some tightly packed dunes. After spending some time here with multiple recoveries the convoy got the hang of the terrain and started moving with some good flow.

As the team got out of this area we hit some beautiful long side slopes and everyone in the convoy was showing good control and technique. I would, however, like to see more consistency on following distance,  convoy was stretched at times.

We exited about 5 min later than planned because of a last recovery on our drive, but it was not the last of the day. At our exit we found some campers with a stuck F150 and a Y61 Patrol with a severe pop out that would need spare wheel change as the tyre was damaged. After recovering them we started to inflate and head home.

Thanks all for joining on this interesting drive, looking forward to the next. Please leave us some feedback and rate your experience below.
