Midweek Samba and Sand

Midweek samba and sand.

We arrived on time (4pm)for this trip. But as we all had to deflate and brief we ended up moving at 4:20pm.

Next time I’ll request that we all try to arrive 15 minutes earlier so we can start moving on schedule and spend more time driving!

Convoy order: Tiago as Trip Leader, Karen as Second Lead, Dela, Karim, Rathica, Chris, Salouh and Gonzalo as recovery team. Chef Marc as side sweeper.

The trip started on a very technical area. We found all sorts of crests, ditches, soft sand, bumps and humps. After a short break for trip picture and checking with Junior drivers if they were comfortable with higher dunes and higher speeds we headed to an area with nice slopes and a bit faster pace!

We managed to arrive at the exit point at the exact planned time, sunset!

Good job everyone, it was loads of fun!

KAREN: Thanks for being a great second lead today, your communication is improving every trip! Keep up the good job!

DELADIER (DELA from now on!): Great job as well, a few second tries and you manage to self recover yourself with the help o our sweeping team. You are getting more confident with each trip. Great to see that! Try to always keep a constant distance from the car in front, it’s specially important when we are doing the side slopes(higher speed) so the convoy does not stretch too much.

KARIM(KIKO): Nice to meet you, brother! Very solid drive today. Your car already drives by itself as Salouh was driving it before :). The only point I make is to keep the distance constant as well, it’s very important in order to keep the convoy moving with fluidity as a unit.

RATHICA: You drive your Wrangler as a lady and Preggy’s FJ as if you stole it(and I like that!!!) kkkkkk.
Solid drive today Rathica, nothing to mention. Glad that you brought your daughter along!

CHRIS: Good to see you again my friend.
You are understanding your new ride and had only one second try! From the videos I’ve made, I could notice that on the side slopes, carrying a beet more speed would help you in controlling the JEEP and avoiding drifts. Great job!

SALOUH: Thanks for supporting Gonzo and great to see your family in the sand. Shukran Habib!

GONZO: Gracias for good communication with the Secon Lead and for coming to the rescue of the other sweepers 🙂

CHEF MARC: The ghost rider, appearing and disappearing behind the dunes mysteriously

Thanks Marko for the opportunity to lead another trip. its been a great experience!

Thanks Tiago for the amazing and safe trip. Thanks Gonzo , solouh, and Marc for the support and thanks 🙏 Marko for the opportunity 👌🏻🙏

  2. Excellent drive. The pace in the beginning was a bit slow due to the soft sand and loads of ditches however all this gave me a chance to explore and understand the FJs capability much more. Mid drive I switched from Low gear into High Gear and kicked it👸🏼 @Pragasan thank you for letting me drive your car. You would have been proud 👍🏼 Thank you for an exciting track Thiago and great second lead Karen.
The only problem with the convoy being stretched out (when we hold the convoy) is that we don’t know which ditch or place requiring momentum the lead/second lead is referring to because in that terrain, even though I was the 5th car, I couldn’t see the second lead.
The second half of the drive was fantastic with great pace – I could easily have driven for another hour because it was so exhilarating 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@ChefMarc: loved seeing you pop up everywhere. I wonder if I will ever get to that stage – my sense of direction is terrible 😀
The cherry on the top was driving with my baby girl 🚙🚙🚙

      very nice feedback… keep rocking

    2. Regarding the stretched out convoy: that was the reason that I was continuously trying to correct the members distance by telling them to “speed up “ or “close the gap from the car in front”.
      Thanks for the feedback!

  3. For me it was a great honor and a pleasure to have shared the ride yesterday. It was very gratifying to share with everyone and meet some more friendships; Definitely you guys are an excellent group. Thank you very much Garoto for such a wonderful ride yesterday it was very technical and with a lot of fun, full of new challenges for me and definitely your support and guidelines were the key to reach a better personal performance. Karen as second leader was very communicative and that’s great. Thanks again to everyone for another spectacular trip and thanks Marko for give me the opportunity to join this amazing group.
