Love Me Tender
Brisk, cool morning at 9c and once again we had a few fellas arrive late which put behind schedule from the start.
This is not the standard that we are looking for, hope this will be addressed for the next drive.
We started in Al Faqqa area with some awesome, smooth, high dunes and it didn’t take long for stucks and second tries, all handled well by our sweeper. The track was challenging, demanding and new for all of us, some spots very epic and some areas not so much with tricky technical spots. Fellas mostley did well especially the supports, Tiago,Β 2nd lead Luca and sweeper Preggy,Β but a few improvements need to be done on communication,Β distance and attitude from certian Fellas.
At 10:30 am we were not done yet andΒ almost all fellas agreed to continue, the rest were escorted out by our support. After a long 68 km we reached the exit point in Qudra 40 min later than planned.
We are still to explore some spots in this area and will find some hidden Gems. Thanks to the supports and looking forward to the next drive.Β Please leave us your feedback below

Thanks for the adventure today Fellas. This area still has many special placed.
Thank you fellas for the nice drive as always. It was a good technical training.
As usual, we had a blast! Putting what we learned from the previous ride into practice was challenging and we had to keep our heads in the game but what a fun trip it was! Learned leaps again and can’t wait to put all that to the test on the next drive but I bet some of us will have nightmares from that huge dune at the beginning !
A very informative drive, every drive is an opportunity for me to know new techniques and gain experience & confidence in myself and my car.
Thanks Marc for leading us to these technical areas, a lot of axles twist, steering and careful challenges approach was required there.
Thanks Luca, Preggy & Tiago for the useful instructions during the drive.
Couple of issues in my driving style need to work on, i will do my best to improve quickly.
Looking forward for the next drive.
Hello chaps.
A wonderful drive to commemorate a special day for all those early birds who made it from far and wide, we had people coming in from as far as Abu Dhabi and Ajman which meant prolly getting out of bed at 4AM or earlier before finding their way to Al Faqaβ appreciate the dedication to those who left their warm beds to hit the chilly air. A couple of open top rigs amongst the chaps, soaking in the best of the season before it get warmer π
The drive was well planned, well supported and well executed. Loved the lessons learned, and here are a few that I thought will help yoβll …
1. Get a good nights rest, it counts very much with an early start the following day
2. Avoid heading off on a winding course on an empty stomach, even something light like a sandwich half an hour to an hour in advance will help take care of the gut. I know that plain coffee before a drive doesnβt do me any good.
3. Head out early, and pace yourself so you can avoid the tension of speeding cameras and such forced expenses
Coming to the drive …
4. Always remember the basics,… tap-tap-tap, fighting gravity, seating position, stay focused, et al.
5. Expect the unexpected, but tackle it with grace and confidence. Itβs all in the learning and application
6. No substitute for experience and following earned experience that is stolen with pride from the seniors
7. Go easy on the shoes, your engine can tackle strain but not the tyres.
I also liked the fact that there was not too much of corrections going on over the radio, everyone was able to manage their performance fairly well and remained in control. There is a better driver in each of us, glad to see everyone dedicated and working on their skills.
I still need to understand why I tend to have frequent air-out situations on my tires, especially the front two. Anyone has any words of advise ? Pls comment
Look forward to the next drive, cheers.
Germain are you driver with pressure lower than 10psi? If you are, you should not go below 10! Try starting next drive with 12, if the sand conditions are too soft you may fine tune to 10! Cheers!
I start off at 12 psi usually, never under 10.
All that it takes is a couple of rough ditches to notice a drop in my tire pressure. Havenβt noticed this happen to my rear wheels, just the front.
Makes me think that the valves could be weak ?
Thanks Marc for leading the pack and giving me the opportunity as 2nd lead to continuously brush my skills. Always a pleasure to look at the shape of your bump(er) π (just to stay in the Valentine’s mood :-p)
Cannot wait for the next drive
Great trip Chef!
Well planed with a nice variety of high dunes, sequence of long slopes and nice technical area to match the trip level! ππΌππΌππΌ
I had a blast to be back on the sand after a month away!
