Junior Level 5
The heat was blistering and humidity was high.
Every one arrived before time following saftey mesures, tempretures were checked, flags raised, tyres deflated and briefing done over the radio while enjoying the AC in our cars.
Trip started off nice and easy, with some technical driving and side sloping on smaller dunes, after warm up the progression was steady with a few second tries and stucks on striaght crests, quicly delt with by sweeper.
We moved to some big hill climb lessons and fellas got the feel of there cars limits and which gears work best for these types of challanges. Once everyone was confident we picked up the pace and increased the challanges. Unfortunately one Fella had a coolant hose failer, so with spare part on the way we locked up the car to continue and return later to mend it.
The rest of the afternoon was spent on higher level honing the big hill climbs, convoy diciplines and convoy tempo.
Trip fininshed on schedule with all in high spirts and spare parts in hand.
Thanks to the support teams for a great job and managing to keep the trip dynamic even with a breakdown.

Thanks Mark for wonderful and organised trip, well spent and enjoyed it a lot with new challenges 😀 and testing the suspension in real. Always trips with are one of the kind. Thanks for the support and to other fellas.
Thanks Chef Marc and team for an amazing drive.
I got to really push my car during the trip and better understand it’s capabilities, I wish we got to spend some more time doing the bigger challenges as I was really starting to enjoy it.
Can’t wait for the next drive !
This trip was really pushing our cars to the limits. At first, the challenges made me a bit nervous. But as we practiced and were walked through the different challenges by trip leader, I felt more comfortable and confident in my car. The 3 hours passed by like a breeze. By the end of the trip, I was really enjoying it and hearing all those engines roar. Looking forward to the next!
Thank you DF team. I can’t wait for the next one!
Thank you Chef Marc and the support team for the nice trip, the heat was a real thing especially when you turn off your AC to let your Jeep cool down 😉
Thanks for the absolutely enjoyable and at times exhilarating drive. It really pushed us to become better drivers and handle our vehicles through an increasingly difficult set of challenges. I haven’t been to Pink Rock in 4-5 years, so it was good to be back. I forgot how much I enjoy that area. I was also able to test the new TC kill switch I had installed and I noticed a difference. Thanks to Marc and the Support team and all the fellas for making it an exciting afternoon. Cheers
What a great drive!
I had so much fun.
Good warmup which brought us to get a feel of the sand and the reaction of our cars, I liked how it increased in level as we ended it parking in front of the first climb.
I have always felt nervous about climbs but hearing the instructions and seeing the love demonstration with the toy car prepared us well.
I felt very confident going up and new what to do to respect our safety measures.
I liked how we went again to a small technical area before the next climb that had less space on the sides and the bottom, this helped us to be more mindful on the maneuvers and forced us to be more precise in controlling the car while coming down.
Loved the final bowl too.
Despite the heat, the Longer nature of the trip and the breakdown prolonged the trip more, I really loved it and kept the concentration high until the very end.
Time really flew.
Thanks for the chance to learn so many new things.
As always, desert fellas takes things seriously, all the health precautions were followed prior the start. We had a nice warmup and I can tell by the progression of the trips, we really apply what we learned so far. I was nervous about the climbs at the beginning, but seeing how it’s done in a similar vehicle boosts confidence for most of us. Despite the heat, the drive was amazing, pushing my car helped me understand what I have in reserve 😅. Can’t wait to go on another trip!
Thanks Chef and all the DF team.
I’ve done most of my trips with Marc for some reason and I have always received correct feedback (even if I didn’t always agree). But in the end, applying the feedback received and the tips he gives during the breaks really helped me progress. I drive more relaxed, the car bounces around less and the drive is more enjoyable.
I had some issues with the bigger hill climbs when the car shifted automatically but he guided me 3 more times on the same dune making sure I grasped the concept and the skill. One on my own, one in convoy, one on my own again and last but not least we drove together up the hill with the convoy on stand by. Not typically something you would see in other clubs and represents perfectly the Desert Fellas attitude/brotherhood. The last try was the best one applying all the power when needed and turning when needed made it pretty easy to achieve.
Always fun to drive with Marc and the Fellas and seeing everyone is progressing is fun to see as the level of drive keeps going up!
5 stars all the way!
