Junior Level 2

Many were eager to drive and arrived way before sunrise

But we started slightly behind schedule due to late arrival which was disappointing.

Briefing was quick with some clear objectives on fixing issue from last drive, experiencing some new terrain and low range gearing driving.

Convoy got off to a good start,  some second tries later we warmed up nicely and challenges got bigger. We headed towards a technical area but not before fixing a pop out, then we switch to low range and started some work on technique and getting to know our cars better. Convoy did very well in this area but we had a tyer puncher that needed sweeper assistance before moving on.

The drive got more challenging with some bigger dunes, and cracks started to show with a few stucks and second tries. In the end we gained some nice pace with long side slopes to finish the drive behind schedule unfortunately.

Many thanks to Talal for second lead and Luca for some exceptional sweeping today.

See you on the sand soon.

Awesome drive chaps! I experienced my first pop out, which was fun and games, and learnt the importance of buying quality safety gear! I continued learning to side sweep better and to manage my momentum, inertia and gravity!!
Thanks to all the team for today’s support.
Another great step on the DF journey.

Thanks to all for joining, it was great driving with you all and seeing new faces. Don’t forget the importance of communication following instructions, there is a reason why we hammer so hard on this during the junior levels. We have time as the drives are low pace compared to off-roader to make you used to it. All these terms and talks and recovery procedures should be burned on your hard drive going fwd. 🙂
Nevertheless, amazing driving from all participants. Some adjustment points and lessons learned to take home and sleep over it for the entire week until we see each other next week again 😂

  6. Mark, Talal and Luca; thanks a lot for this great morning! For me it was a drive that I hoped would last until 5 PM. Thanks to everyone for the great atmosphere and hope to see you all again on the sand this weekend!
