Go Big Or Go Home
Meeting and inflating in the dark almost felt like winter if it wasn’t for the 35 degrees ambient temperature.
The convoy maintained a good pace while warming up on side slopes and crests en route to Big Red Dune. It was a first for many of the Fellas so we spent some time there, enjoying some nice high climbs and bowls as we headed off to an even better area behind Big Red.
We had a few second tries and stucks which were generally due to lack of proper control on the crests and in some cases inappropriate following distance. It was reassuring to see the Fellas responding quickly and taking good decisions when a second try or stuck was called.
As we made our way to Pink Rock, our lead had an incident and decided to exit the drive via a planned emergency exit. The route to the emergency exit had some surprisingly nice dunes which the convoy took full advantage of. The convoy did a great job of meandering along and over the large dunes with rounded crests and gently sloping sides.
It is unfortunate that the trip had to be ended slightly ahead of schedule but this is the reality of desert driving. It is unpredictable and sometimes your only protection is your muscle memory and the discipline of the convoy.
Thanks Mick and Talal for your support on today’s drive and the rest of the convoy for your company

Morning breeze was perfect for Saturday drive. The terrain was well planned with high pace and learning experience. Its unfortunate to see the incident happened to the leaders car but this part of our hobby and hope to have it sort out shortly.
I’m glad you enjoyed the pace Talal. I was afraid that you may have been getting bored at the back. This area has some really nice formations and we’ll surely go back and explore some more once the car is sorted out.
its good to experience different positions sometimes , but the enjoyable part was seeing the fellas constantl flow in many occasions, but the bad thing also I forgot to bring my cam along 🙃🙃
The morning breeze is something I really miss, the drive was fun and challenging and I liked the diversity of the terrain, everyone did and amazing job. I hope our Leader’s car gets sorted out smoothly and that ot is only plastic stuff. Always nice to drive with everyone of the fellas. Thanks everyone
Early morning in the summer is the perfect time for the drivers and the cars for offroading, and i think everybody noticed the difference in performance. I really enjoyed the track today specially switching while climbing the big red dunes which gives me feel of offroader level introduction.
Hope you fix your car and come back to the sand quickly.
Until the next time 💪🤙
Nice and fun drive exploring a great area, thanks to Preggy, Talal & Mick for leading today! Preggy hope you get your car sorted soon, see you all on the sand soon 🚙💨💨
It was a great morning. Starting in the dark, Preggy and myself though that winter is almost here. The meeting site was pitch dark.
Pace was good after the warm up. Thanks Preggy for pointing out I should’ve called it faster before I got stuck. Will surely do that.
Unfortunate event but this is part of trip leading. Preggy managed to take us put safely and this is what counts.
Hope you can get your repaired car back sooner rather than later and we can explore that area for unfinished business.
Was this morning a sign of the summer coming to the end? The weather was perfect, not to hot and the breeze kept the humidity low!
The warm up was spot on for this level, starting off immediately with some nice side sloping and a nice early switching lesson. The entire trip was a real learning session for me, first time officially in second lead, I took some time to get the following distance right, this caught me out in the first half of the drive with a nasty stuck resulting in a flat. As we moved to the area near big red, @Preggy took advantage of the big dunes and the pace really picked up, the entire convoy pushed hard to keep a nice flow! Was very unfortunate to see an accident and hope the DEMON is back on the dunes soon. A lesson to us all that you never know what’s over a dune!!
Thanks @Preggy, @talalyiger and all!
