Well I started with Desert Fellas in mid 2020, after researching a multitude of other clubs that were either in it to get you to wreck your car so they could repair it or specific cars that they mod for desert driving , it reeked of business and monies schemes.
Until I came across DF, they don’t care what car you have or what garage you use, only that if you drive with them you learn the correct way. Oh boy is there more than one way 🤓. From the beginning you could tell these guys love what they do but don’t compromise on safety, you either follow a disciplined approach or you are not a DF. After about 9 lessons I wanted a drive but a slot was not available so one weekend I thought I would drive with anther club …….baaad idea. Firstly they thought I was a senior due to how intense the DF course is , but the real breaker was the safety, in Junior DF if there’s an issue we stop, not in this club , I witnessed 2 near accidents in the space of 25 min. I was constantly on edge and later found this club had periodic major incidents. DF love what they do, at the end of the day they want you be able to drive home safely…people forget we learn how to not kill ourselves in the desert, I had veterans think I was a senior when I was a junior a true testament that we learn the right way …stay safe and enjoy the sands
