We started earlier than usual, setting off under the cover of darkness. With all safety checks completed on time, we were ready to embark on our journey into the Nazwah light.

As we made our way to Pink Rock, the morning sun illuminated the dune crests, prompting a quick stop to admire the stunning landscape and capture some Instagram-worthy photos.

Soon, we transitioned to softer sands, picking up the pace as we navigated the low dune formations. The perfect weather called for the first of two extended breaks, where we enjoyed each other’s company and shared stories—a true highlight of the trip. Honestly, we could have stayed there for the rest of the morning!

Pressing on, our small and agile convoy continued toward Big Red, leaving barely a grain of sand untouched! We paused again to let our engines cool and pick up our conversations right where we left off before hitting the pedals.

Upon arriving at Big Red, the sand was heavily churned, with several other convoys in the area, so we had to time our approach, but the team smashed it making the most of our opportunity before heading towards the exit.

What a drive! It was a fantastic morning with even better company. Huge thanks to Ayah and Ahmed—you guys were awesome! Shoutout to Ryan for the flawless support, and to Adam (SL) for the clear communication and great banter!
