Basic training lesson 2

Back this week for the next lesson in our basic training, the drivers were heating up just as much as the rising mercury, with summer slowly starting to creep in.

We kicked things off with a brisk warm-up, easing into some technical dune driving to get a feel for what lay ahead later in the day. Honing radio communication and maintaining proper track discipline are critical, and technical dunes provide the perfect playground to practice and refine these skills.

Once the warm-up was complete, we pushed the throttle a bit, taking on some epic side slopes before making our way into more technical dunes and introducing low-range driving. The challenge stepped up, but so did the drivers.

Everyone was performing well, and the rest of the drive flowed smoothly, with strong discipline and growing confidence across the convoy.

Just before heading toward the exit, we came across fellow desert explorers who needed help fixing a pop-out. They were struggling with the wrong gear, but luckily our marshal, Ryan, who was on sweeper duty, was fully equipped—as always. He quickly stepped in, sorted the issue, and got them moving again.

An excellent drive overall. This training group is shaping up nicely and is more than ready for lesson three. Catch you on the slopes next week.
