Very chilly morning, with a late cancellation, joiner and some Fellas taking to long to deflate and get ready. This is not standard and must improve!

  1. We had a very fresh Jr upgraded from yesterdays prospect drive and a Fella totally new to this area so we kept the route at a medium to low track. It didn’t take long to get a stuck, with a quick self recover we moved on. Before the first hour was up we had a pop out which totally destroyed the tyre. After the spare wheel change this fella was escorted out by support team because spare wheel was not suited for offroading.

We got moving to some higher dunes, increased the lvl and started to gain some momentum and flow towards the hill climb area. Here there were a lot of tracks and very bumpy so engaged 4 low which was a first for some and did some hill climbs, a few second tries but Fellas did well.

We headed to the exit and finished on time as planned after 42km. Special thanks to my supports Antz, Sujith, Sid and the other Fellas for joining.

Once again, thank you Marc for the opportunity to be the 2nd lead. The drive started with a slow pace. There were few technical drive in between and challenging dunes for the junior fellas. The pace was increased once the fellas started picking up after the warm up session. Couple of other groups were spotted without flags and appropriate guidance and safety instructions were provided by Marc to the convoy. Sweeper Sid has done a good job in recovering a tyre pop out situation and Antz for the support in escorting the fella member to safety. Well done team and thank you all. Hope the junior team enjoyed the drive.

This drive was my first trip in junior level & first time to drive in this area. I deflated my street tires to the same psi that I used to go for it in the last 2 drives in Al Qudra Desert assuming that both areas having the same terrain, it was my mistake because i should have asked any of the experienced guys in this area about the track, therefore it ended up with a damage tire & couldn’t complete the drive, and like Chef Marc said that’s a good reason for new proper off road tires ๐Ÿ˜‰.
Thank you Chef Marc for the support, and thanks for all the team, i really enjoyed it & it was a pleasure meeting you there.
A special thanks to Sujith (second lead) : it was my second time to drive behind him, and i really feel save because of his instruction during the drive for the different hazard situations.
Another one goes to Sid (sweeper): who handled my recovery & changed the tire in my car.
Antony: who’s escorted me safely to the exit with some shortcuts to do not put any pressure on my car’s stock spare wheel, thanks man, it was a pleasure meeting you there.
I really enjoyed this uncompleted drive & was hoping to finish it with you, looking forward for the next drive after i change my tires & see where this car will be able to take me.

Thanks for your comment, glad you made it home safely. Tire pop outs are part of the learning curve and nothing to be ashamed of, this is were we learn, correct and implant changes. Looking forward to help you progress your skills.

  5. Thank you chefMarc and support team for todayโ€™s ride , always adding some experience in the backpack. Looking forward to the next one. chefMarc nice meeting senior. Unfortunate about the pop out turning sour with a cut in the tire, it shows the importance of our gear as itโ€™s being challenged in the desert. Happy holiday season and cu next year ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for your honest rating, expect nothing less from you ๐Ÿ‘. Catch you next year ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿš™๐Ÿ’จ

  6. This junior drive was smooth and steady. I had sweeper duties but to my luck i had to deal with a pop out/tire burst with the VW. Since i wasnโ€™t rested the previous night, i was confused and delayed the entire tire replacement procedure. Even the spare was a slim tire and not a full size wheel that made the person exit the drive due to safety reasons. Apart from this it was a smooth sail. It was nice meeting the fellas once again.
