Party On!
The first DF trip of 2021 attracted seven enthusiastic Fellas who were eager to start the year off with a blast.
The drive got off to a slow start in a technical area near Al Faqaa. The soft sand and extra long convoy made for a slow but steady crossing of the technical area.
Before reaching the large dunes of Qudra, one of our Fellas felt ill and was safely escorted to an emergency exit by the Senior on this trip. Thereafter, the pace of the drive picked up and our Juniors did an excellent job of keeping up.
They all managed the high straight cresting with a great deal of control and confidence. Everyone’s favorite segment of the drive must certainly have been the high speed side sloping where by-standers who blinked too slowly only got to see the cloud of dust that the convoy left in its wake.
Safety distance on this trip could have been better, but it was good to see the convoy speeding through the desert with only two recoveries and a few second tries which were quickly executed.

We started the year the right way; fellas showing up nice and early and big convoy!
I really enjoyed the drive with a mix of techniques. It was a well planned drive and lines were well hand picked by Pregs!

I Was so sorry to see one of the fellas leave the party but the right choice was made.
Apart from that, this is one of my favorite drives so far just because it was so varied. It’s like the greatest hits of everything I have learned so far.
