3 PEAKS
Our team of off-roaders started this morning without a warm-up, heading straight for the high dunes switches to set the rhythm for the entire drive. It was a fantastic start to the day!
This time, the Sweihan desert greeted us with vast, untouched areas of very soft sand, which presented a thrilling challenge as we navigated the tall dunes. On the other hand, the dune switching became wonderfully fluid and enjoyable; controlling the car felt akin to piloting a boat over waves.
Maintaining a steady pace, we crossed the Temple Bowl from various angles and proceeded non-stop towards the Old Lady dune. After enjoying some smooth runs on the Old Lady, we paused for a coffee and cookies break before moving on to Nagrah.
At Nagrah, our rims essentially served as shovels in the soft sand, making the dune particularly difficult to conquer this time. After Nagrah, we proceeded to the remaining dunes in the area, where we executed numerous successful switches accompanied by joyful cheers from our passengers.
The convoy’s adrenaline-charged atmosphere and the confidence of every driver made for an incredibly profound and fun-filled drive. We covered 95 km in total, a record that will be etched into our off-roading memories and serve as yet another reason to return to the sands.
A special thanks to Harun for his excellent work as sweeper and to Jassim for acting as second lead. Well done, everyone! Look forward to seeing you back on the sand soon.
