WHISPERING PEAKS

The off-road season is now underway!

Warming up we made our way to the base of a nearby dune playing around a little, building up speed and momentum before climbing higher.

Not long into the drive we came across a group of people in distress signaling our attention from the top of a dune. Stopping to take a closer look it appeared they had a Tyre pop out in a tricky bowl near the peak.

Unloading the trolley jack and necessary equipment, we helped them out so these tired people who’d been stuck several hours could get on their way. A reminder to all of us that the desert has no mercy and without the necessary safety equipment and driver skills can be life endangering.

With our good deed done for the day we moved on, accompanied by a squad of paragliders hovering above we met up with our fellow convoy, catching up with our members returning to the sand over a cup of Karak.

Loaded up on the sweet tea and making up for lost time we made our way to iftar bowl, the sand chewed up but with only a few convoys in the area we made the most of it. Approaching from the north and over the top for several high-speed passes around this beast before another rendezvous with our fellow convoy for more tea and banter.

With the temperatures and humidity higher than expected it was time to make our way to the exit for a last squeeze of the throttle surfing the side slopes en-route.

Thank you Marcin and Pete for a great drive, the support, clear comms and great company! I look forward to many more drives with you in new pastures over the coming months.

See you on the next one.
