Warm up to LIWA

Share with your friends!

One late comer today, letโ€™s arrive on time as this is Desert Fellas standard folks!

After briefing and defining convoy order we did a radio check and started moving to the warm up area.

After warm up we started tackling higher slopes for cresting.

We had a few second tries in the back of the convoy that were called by the Sweeper and the convoy did not stop in the front, thatโ€™s a must. Every time there is a second try the convoy must stop.

In one occasion Gonzo called second try in the back of the convoy and me, second lead and third car did not listen. As we continued the second lead went down from a crest and third car did not follow the track! When trying to get back on track he had a very near miss (touching bumpers) with second lead because the distance was not enough!!!

Driver was immediately de-briefed on the importance of convoy discipline with regards to distance and track.

We continued towards Iftar Bowl and it was empty! We had good fun doing a few laps over there when other convoys started approaching, including desert safari convoys without flags. We managed to stay away from them driving back towards the meeting/exit point, reaching it just before sunset.

I did a de-briefing with the whole group this time emphasizing the importance of following track and keeping safe distance!

We drove a total of 2:15 covering 22km.

Drivers please share your feedback!

Thanks

For this trip I started good , but when I saw the small accident between the two cars in my front, I loose a little bit my confidence. But It was because I hade a friend as a passenger with me in the car, and that was her first time in the desert I could see her a little bit scared and her reaction made me lose a little bit of my confidence. So definitely I still need to work more on it, my confidence ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿค˜๐ŸปThanks a lot Tiago and desert fellas !!!! ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
