Meeting in Nazwa today, at the same location as our friends from Basic training 5 was quite refreshing, especially since the Basic Training 6 convoy was so small.
Basic training 2 convoy had anticipated tire deflation in total darkness. However, much to our surprise, sunrise over Al Qudra desert was so early that the convoy arrived at the meeting point in almost full daylight.
With the mercury dropping to near single digit figures this morning, the desert was indeed a cool place to be.
The dunes around Nahel looked deceptively dry and soft considering that the area had receive a fair amount of rainfall prior to our arrival and during tire deflation.
The rather late sunrise on Friday morning meant that the Basic training 2 convoy had to find their way to the meeting point while it was still dark, and cold.
Gazelle trail convoy got off to an easy start on small gently sloping dunes in Al Qudra.
Watch ’em run promised to be a scenic and refreshing morning drive with plenty of wildlife viewing.
The first few minutes of Beyond Sunset comprised of straight cresting over small dunes that were scattered with small outcrops of grass.
Basic training 6 was designed to hone the skills that our trainees were taught during their basic training program.
