Sunset rendezvous

Sunset rendezvous drive started in sweltering mid-afternoon heat with flaming hot desert sand.

Considering that the start of the drive involved a lot of cresting, there was seriously concerned that we were going to encounter engine and transmission overheating issues early in the drive. To our complete surprise, our mechanical horses kept going for over an hour before we stopped for a refreshment break.

The convoy got to experience a myriad of cresting and climbing challenges during today’s drive, in an area that is quickly becoming a cresting paradise.

On account of the length of the drive and the numerous challenges which required a heavy right foot, one of our Fellas was running low on fuel towards the end of the drive. Since we weren’t quite done with our assault on the dunes, he was safely escorted to a nearby gatch road by our sweeper who promptly rejoined the convoy further along our route.

We ended our fun drive on a balcony where we caught  the last rays of the day in the company of some Fellas that had just completed the full day Desert Discovery training. We look forward to welcoming the new Fellas from today’s Desert Discovery training on our fun drives in the near future.

Thanks for the spirited second lead by Victor and Martin and the brilliant sweeper support by Zoubeir.

  1. Another amazing drive with Preggy’s selection of low, technical crests and some climbs, switches, and a high speed exit chasing the setting sun. Of course the great company always adds to the enjoyment of these fun drives!

  2. Perfectly executed drive from start to finish; included all of the techniques and ending on a high!
Even though summer has tehcnically ended, it was still blazing hot. But our transmissions behaved and we managed to crest everything in sight.
Lovely company on the trip and even better ending with Preggy’s snacks. Have a great week everyone and onto the next one!
