Sunday morning cresting session
Mid-summer mornings in the desert start off mild, but it doesn’t take long for the heat and excitement to kick in.
Deciding to venture off the beaten path, we were greeted by a scene right out of a desert postcard: camels grazing at the deflation point, enjoying the freshly sprouted grass. It’s amazing how the landscape transformed after last month’s heavy rains.
Once we set off, the shrubs posed no real challenge as we skillfully weaved through them. The sand crests were crisp and sharp, with no tracks to be seen as we made our way to the back of the Nagrah dune. Being the first convoy to conquer this behemoth of sand, we relished the opportunity to lay down fresh tracks along its sides and crest.
The second half of the morning cranked up the difficulty and the pace. The lines became trickier, and we flattened only the very tiptops of the crests as we sped towards the exit.
What a fantastic morning spent with seasoned offroaders! Thank you for an epic close to another splendid weekend on the dunes.
