This camp named starfighter was long overdue.

After postponing this camp a few weeks back due to bad weather it was finally time to head out into the heart of the desert and enjoy some of the best landscapes in the country.

The journey to the campsite is long and combined with the wait to make it happen made it absolutely worth every mile and week in anticipation.

After exploring the area while waiting for the mid day heat to dissipate we made camp then with tents pitched and cars empty it was time to really drive. For those who have been to my favourite camp spot before know that these sand giants are some of the best driving, so with low range engaged we shattered the silence with the roar of our engines. Climbing and descending the soft sands required nothing but maximum throttle and torque which we gladly deliver.

With a few hours of pure driving thrill behind us the time came to head to camp, light the fire and enjoy the night skys with good food, company and the sound of grazing camles in the distance.

A weekend well spent with friends on the sand. Let’s try squeeze in one more camp before the weather becomes too hot.
