Second Bite At The Cherry

Today morning’s convoy was so eager to drive in the desert that they all arrived on time and were deflated and ready to hit the sand by 7:30.

After the usual formalities we got moving and entered the desert a few kilometers away from the meeting point.

With a little “encouragement “ from our sweeper our convoy gathered momentum and started to move like a train through the desert plain. The direction of our drive meant that we had to approach the dunes from the leeward side during the first segment of our drive. The approach to the dunes was short and sharp and required a degree of skill and guts to make a successful crossing. Our Juniors proved that they had both.

En route to the next segment of the drive we crossed a technical area that had dunes which were stacked like broken steps leading nowhere. From a distance, 2 convoys could be seen in this area and it was clear from their “lack of motion” that this was going to be a difficult area to traverse. We managed to pass through this area with only a few second tries and were rewarded with beautiful large gently sloping dunes on the other side. Our juniors enjoyed side sloping to their hearts content and started moving like a desert train again.

On our way to the planned exit point one of the Fellas experienced technical problems with his car, so we exited the desert through an emergency exit. This however, did not lessen the enjoyment of the drive as the route to the emergency exit crossed a large plain and the convoy got a short lesson in rally style driving. We exited the desert at the planned time and all Fellas were in good spirits.

Thanks Rathica and Marko for your flawless support on this trip.

Thank you Preggy for the nice and disciplined trip today. Early drives for us Jeepers are the best in this time of year, so please let us have more of this.

We entered into a really challenging technical area as sand kings, nice drive and thanks to Rathica and Marko for the great support.

    1. Morning drives in summer are definitely preferable. Most junior and prospect level drives are planned for the morning but this cannot always be guaranteed.

  2. This my first drive with Preggy leading this drive and I truly enjoyed a convoy under his lead. Everyone did very well today although he had a very technical area mid drive. Thanks everyone for today’s drive, I hope to see and attend more and more Preggy’s drives!

  3. Thanks preggy for the fabulous trip this morning, I like the golden word, drive it like u stolen it or else go home 😄, I have started driving my car like its not mine 😁, well organised trip and train was amazing too to test and refreshing our skills, very enjoyable and well said about the trip, as team we need support each other and move forward. Thanks to Rathica and Marko for the support. See you soon on the sand. Last but no least keep up the good work preggy 💪🏻👍🏻👏🏻

  4. We are really glad that you enjoyed the drive everyone. You guys found a nice rthym and flow 👍🏼 Remember that your lead and support know what your cars are capable of so when they push you or ask you to push your vehicle, it is to build your confidence while in the safety of the team. You guys were amazing – only one winch recovery and some re-tries and self recoveries is really good for young drivers 🚙🚙🚙
Demon You put together and executed a fun track and managed to lead the team out of a tricky section when another convoy was stuck. I’m very proud of your second lead and looking forward to the next one too🥰

  5. Thanks Preggy for all the planning, Rathica for leading us through safely and Marko for overlooking our safety and gap. It was a good mix of technical and flat areas where we could really hit pedal to the metal.
I was not focused during the first part and the advise during the break was most welcome. It helped me regain 100% focus.
Looking forward to more drives under yourself Preggy. I have not had enough of the cherry 😎

    Good morning all,
let’s start with thanks to the management team:

    – Preggy, thank you for this colorful and very varied course.
educator, encouragement, and advice, are always advised, and always given at the right time.

    – Marko, another rich exchange, between an old man and a novice, I like to debate. it helps to make the right decisions, or to see certain subjects from a new angle … 😉

-Rathica is the feminine touch of the team, but just as rich in her experience that I salute.

Thank you all, the absent are not forgotten, thank you for having guided me in this initiation to desert driving. certainly, the road is still long, but with such a framework we can only go forward …

Concerning myself, after a day full of twists and turns, I only keep the good sides: magnificent playground, wildlife on the program, and many other things.
I take this opportunity to also greet my playmates, wishing them the best in the desert fellas, the opportunities are sure to find some in the sand, again and again. 😎
