Round and around we go

The meeting point for this trip was a bit of a challenge to find due to the road works at Badayer, but our Advanced Juniors put their navigation skills to good use and found their way to the somewhat obscure location.

Soon after the safety briefing the big dunes near Badayer shops disappeared in our rear view mirrors as we made our way to a rather testing technical area south east of our starting point. We soon found spot that was conducive to a cresting lesson, where the group practiced cresting under Tiagoโ€™s expert leadership. The drive demanded unwavering attention to the track since the crests in this area were surrounded by bowls. Considering that this was the groups first exposure the cresting, they fared extremely well and only had a few second tries and recoveries., which was expected. At the end of the practice the group was ready for a well deserved break.

Thereafter, Preggy led the group on a meandering course over small crests and shallow bowls. On our way to theย  exit point the convoy got a chance to experience some medium sized climbs which they executed with admirable skill and control.

Thanks Tiago for teaching the group an invaluable skill which is sure to take their off-road driving to the next level and Rathica for providing a solid second lead in a demanding area.

This was an amazing trip, a completely new thing to learn, at least for me.

It was overwhelming in the beginning to the extent I felt like it’s my first desert drive again, but the cresting lesson made it really worth it, I believe some more 3-4 cresting practice sessions will make it perfect.

Thank you Preggy, Tiago and Rathica for the amazing work, I appreciate every second you volunteer to bring us Fellas all up to speed.

    See you next weekend
