RIDGE RIDERS

Driving through the amber lit streets of the city en-route to the meeting point with a scorching mercury reading of 35°C it seemed a challenging adventure could be on the cards.

Joined by two other convoys at the inflation point making their preparations it appeared we weren’t the only ones with looking for their weekend fix.

So not wasting any time we Jumped straight into it for a slice of bowl driving before riding the ridges through a series of low lying formations, our small team of experienced drivers quickly carved out a passage to our new playground consisting of several large back to back dune formations.

Riding high and firing on all cylinders we made our marks across these beasts with high level switches interconnecting our runs from the east and west. The area now busy with convoys in sight from both the north and south we decided to take a break from the action to chew the fat over a cup of karak, surprisingly in pleasant (ish) conditions due to the overcast weather.

Refueled and ready to go we made our way through the busy area, a team effort was needed for an assisted recovery from a high switch which was carried out safely, without too much delay we continued as planned to iftar bowl with our engines singing for several high speed passes from the southwest.

Now with more traffic in the area we decided to find a less congested spot for a photoshoot opportunity where Martin took some great shots of the cars in action.

Making the most of any challenge on the horizon we made our way to the inflation point for some refreshments under the shade whilst our cars were being prepared for the tarmac.

Thank you to Ryan, Steven and Martin for the great company and a fun filled morning on the sand.

See you soon.
