Off-Road Discovery 08.01.2022.
This off-road discovery was special in several ways, here’s why
We had a fairly large convoy today.
We started with a slight delay but by the end of the day we managed to complete the complete plan and program. The difference in performance from the start of the drive till the end of the second part is simply amazing. All the drivers gave their best, which came back to them through rapid progress. Some of the members was in the desert for a very first time and I believe that it never occurred to them that they would be able to perform some elements in single day.
We had a Porsche Cayenne on the sand today and it turned out really well. We were skeptic, and we didn’t expect much but we saw a lot.
Today was first official day out with our new flags. They are just awesome!
This was another day in the desert was brought to a successful end with a few stucks but not as much as we expected.
The whole ecosystem and energy was great and it was really wonderful to be a part of this training.
Thanks a lot to my dream team, Preggy, Zoubeir, Hussam, you’re the rockstars!
Next Discovery is scheduled for first weekend in February followed by Basic Training week after. You can book your spot now. More details here

Thank you Marko for all the guidance, Preggy for showing some really new recovery techniques to me and Zoubier for helping with my 5th finger, a dream team for real.
Thank you for everyone and hope to see you soon.
This course was really great and can take you from being interested in off-roading, to looking forward to every next time in the sand. The team is really great and gives you a sense of control and safety, even when you are brand new to offroading. Thank you Desert Fellas for a great experience! Looking forward to learning more with you!
It was a privilege to meet such a nice group of off-road enthusiasts!
Braving the cold Dubai winter morning, they all showed up, eager to learn.
All in all, it was a superb day out. By the end of it, the first timers could do wonders while respecting all safety rules.
Looking forward to seeing you continue your off-roading careers.
Special thanks to the dream team who made it a day to remember! 🙂
The morning convoy was quite a large one. Usually a convoy of that size would be broken up into smaller convoys just to keep things moving and to be able to monitor progress more effectively. But this was not necessary, since today’s convoy appeared to have a natural aptitude for the skills that were taught, despite many of the drivers being complete novices to desert driving. The flow of the convoy was not exactly graceful or swift, but the morning drive did provide enough of an introduction to driving on soft sand and scaling dunes that may have seemed impossible a few hours earlier.
Those who stayed for the afternoon drive had the time of their lives. About 20 minutes into the drive the pace increased and Offroad Discovery convoy was side sloping at high speed without even knowing it. Further into the drive, the convoy encountered dunes which dwarfed those from the morning’s drive, but it didn’t faze them. Instead, their confidence seemed increase in proportion to the height of the dunes. Not to mention that they did all this without keeping our sweeper and sweeper trainee too busy.
Well done everyone! It was a pleasure meeting you all and I’ll be glad to see you all on the sand again.
