As the name last rounds suggest this was one of the last opportunities to go camping before the summer heat sets in.

Reaching our deflation point on the edge of the empty quarter,  we readied ourselves for an epic adventure at the feet of the red giant dunes that dominate this landscape. With tire pressure ready and camping gear secure we set off to find camp. Being the first time for these adventures in these dunes, some initial nervousness was present but as thrill of big bowl driving set in there was nothing but pure driving bliss.

Reaching our camp in good time, we set up, had a quick drive for some big dune climbs before lighting the fire and enjoying the evening. This was quite a special night even though it was a bit warm to start it soon cooled and even a very brief rain shower left the desert air fresh and crisp making for a peaceful night’s sleep.

The next morning we made breakfast together, packed up camp and did a bit of sight seeing on a spectacular desert drive. As midday drew closer we made our way to the exit to inflate and head home with some amazing memories and many photos.
