GPS Training 2
Today we had GPS training to prepare few fellas for second lead duties as per Desert Fellas standards.
This drive was invitation only, and it was based on feedbacks from our trips.
After theory about navigation and adjusting devices we started the drive. Every Fella got his coordinates 5-ish kilometers away and a duty to lead convoy trough different terrain. Some of Fellas really had a blast today and I was enjoying to watch their development. We took enough time to detect issues and work on them. Team spirit was high all training. We had several stuck’s with self recovery, snatching recoveries and one V stuck with winching. They were all successfully handled by our sweepers Salouh and Javier. We also had one tire pop-out, sorted out for 6:02 minutes – Good job Javier.

The training was a key lesson for any off-roader. Enjoyed every bit of it and lucky to have instructors as Marco and Salouh who keeps close watch and provides constructive feedback to improve skills and safe driving without missing any fun part to each and every participant. Time literally flew and never felt we drove for more than 4 hours. Feedbacks are always valuable and happy to receive them and improve them to be a better off-roader. Thank you Marko, salouh and rest of the team. Congratulations to Javier for an excellent and speedy recovery performance. Hats off to all the team members.

This was a really great day. Every time I come away from a drive I’m amped from the people I’ve just driven with and new skills that are shared. The effort put in by making the DF standard high is impressive. Always something to learn setting us up with awesome skills that make the difference between success and failure in sometimes some extreme off-road options we have in the deserts here in the UAE.
