Family Drive
This was nice and smooth drive with some of new challenges what we introduced to our fellas juniors.
We had one misunderstanding what lead us to one fella not attending to trip neither cancel his RSVP. He claims that he REVP’ed late and we didn’t add him to the chat group. Fellas, if you RSVP late, you don’t wait, check with trip leader where is meeting point and ask him to add you to the trip group.
Trip was intended to be for Junior level but most of the drivers was from offroader level. Decision was to try to introduce cresting to our two juniors in the group.
After successful tryouts we where increasing challenges and drive becomes a low offroader level. Peek of the drive was technical area near to Amir’s Hill. Plan was to meet our fellas prospect there at 4:30 because we had secret deal with our fella Mike. Mike was proposing Lucy and it was beautiful and super romantic. And she say YES!!!!!!!
Thank we continue in two convoys towards BBQ/camping place to celebrate.

This was a great introduction to cresting. The approach angles and crests were well chosen. On this trip I developed more of a feeling for riding on crests. In the future I need to work on getting off the crest. At the moment, it’s not as graceful as I’d like it to be.
One observation: when we were practicing approaching a crest, we used the same crest multiple times. While I believe it’s good to use the same crest for training (because of familiarity) it did cause the approach to the crest to get torn up. It made it a bit difficult to get on top of the crest.
Other than that, I’m looking forward to the next similar trip.
Good drive once again, I liked the level of the drive as it allowed me to continue to practice the cresting technique which I do need to perfect but this will come with more practice and confidence.
Tricky in some areas because of the previous days rain, approaches got easily torn up and I had to re-think my approach angle as I was back of the pack apart from the sweeper which is all part of the learning curve I suppose.
The Senior team as always gave constructive direction and assistance when required. All in all a good days drive.
Bit wacky and crazy towards the end with all the other groups and quad bikes entering the area but nothing we can do about that apart from keeping convoy discipline and driving to a safe exit
Congrats to the soon to be newlyweds!!
Thanks for the great trip Marko. I was a new experience for me to do the side sweeping and float free around the convoy, very good fun!
I was also an honor to be part in Mike’s proposal to Lucie! We wish all the best guys!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Family drive of offroaders & Juniors gave us a chance to ride the crests in al Qudra , this time on wet sand. Due to the rain earlier in the week the sand was still wet below the surface
Marco warmed us up on introduction to cresting and we all took turns getting feedback along the way.
What I really like about DF is feedback, it’s helps correct errors and build skills in a positive manner.
Thanks Fellas
Every time I venture into Al Qudra l’m surprised at how much this area has to offer to offroad enthusiasts of all levels. Our Juniors received an unexpected treat in the form of a Cresting Lesson. After a few attempts in a controlled environment they got to put their new skills into practice and fared quite well. The convoy progressed rather smoothly given the unpredictable nature of the terrain owing to the rains from the previous day. Radio communication and announcing second tries definitely needs to improve since failure to communicate effectively can put the convoy in a real tight spot.
The highlight of the afternoon was Mike’s romantic proposal to Lucie. I wish the lovely couple a lifetime of happiness
