With the Eid break upon us, and temperatures hitting the mid-forties, today’s Discovery group was made up of 4 intrepid drivers hitting the sand for the first time.

Taking advantage of the early morning fresher air, we covered some basics about car maintenance and safety equipment before deflating, engaging 4 wheel drive and venturing into the desert to meet up with Marko and Chef Marc to cover off the morning’s theory.

After this it was time to put our new knowledge into action. With the safety briefing done we warmed up and began with the main objective for the morning – crossing our first dunes. Starting easy and building up quickly to some higher and trickier crests.

Unfortunately one of the group suffered some mechanical issues and was forced to cut the day short.

After an early lunch break at Last Exit we headed back out into the desert to take on some bigger dunes and get a feel for side sloping. With some perfectly executed repetitions under our belts we took the opportunity to spend the rest of the afternoon playing in the dunes of Al Qudra before heading to the exit point to inflate.
