Creatures of Nature

A spectacular sunrise greeted us on at the meeting point of the Creatures of Nature drive and even though humidity is still high you can definitely feel that summer is starting to come to an end, meaning some good weather is not far.

We had a smaller convoy and a few VIP guests on this trip who were visiting the Emirates for the week so once we had completed the morning brief we headed out to show them the stunning views of Pink Rock area. The warm up was short and since we were only offroaders on this trip it didn’t take long to raise the level and challenge our selves with a few second tries.

Not even an hour in the heat started to creep up so we stopped for a quick breakfast and Karak break before it would get to uncomfortable. Some good snacks, tea and some socialising was to be had before we started moving again. It was time to head form some bigger slopes and hear the pace and level picked up even more with some sharp crests and turns, so much so that we had a pop out in the convoy mainly due to brand new tires that always are a bit stiff till the side walls are well broken in.

With the pop out fixed we had a member in the convoy feel a bit dizzy and we realised that an inner ear issue could be causing some vertigo, so by the time we had climb all sides of Big Red we thought it best to escort him to the exit and head home.  The journey continued with some big dunes but didn’t last long because of some front axle issues. Identifying this issue early before some serious damage meant that we could all exit on our own steam via an easy route to an emergency exit.

Though our drive did not go with out its challenges we all had fun and even the VIPs had an amazing experience. We all managed to exit safely and head home to enjoy the weekend further. Many thanks to Marko and Fouad for a great drive, good breakfast and tasty Karak. Catch you on the sand soon.
