The season has arrived, and with summer’s heat finally subsiding, it’s the perfect moment to kick off some awesome driving courses with Desert Fellas Basic Training.

The new trainees all gathered at sunrise near Al Faqqa Desert, close to the camel racetrack where a sky full of rising hot air balloons set the perfect scene during briefing.

Once the day’s objectives were laid out, we ventured into the glowing morning sun for the lessons and adventures ahead. We started with a gentle warm up and some safe side slope driving. The convoy quickly built momentum, tackling ever more challenging dunes which, of course, they began to master after a few repeats.

This lesson offered a great mix of everything, long side slopes, steep crests, technical dunes all rolled into a solid starter drive to lay down the foundation for what’s to come.

We wrapped up right on time and in high spirits, thanks to fantastic teamwork and our sweeper, Niall, who kept us safe all the way. Catch you on the slopes for Lesson 2!
