Back for Breakfast

Late start due to the heavy fog. Our plan was to have our breakfast on top of Big Red

but had the freshly baked pastries and brewed coffee at the meeting point instead.

Visibility was no more than 20meters so we switched to 4L and stared the climb at a steady pace. After a few second tries we reach the top of Big Red and the clouds, it was like concurring a mountain and spirits were high.

Heading back into the clouds we had a crested stuck but was sorted out very quickly. As the fog cleared the level increased and convoy was moving with excellent flow and only minor adjustments on following distance.

The last part of the drive things picked up with nice hill climbs, challenging crests and big duned technical area. One fella got himself in a tricky crest situation but teamwork from me and our sweeper Antony got him back on track safely.

Great drive today Fellas, not many mistakes and good discipline. Looking forward to the next one and to finally have breakfast at sunrise on Big Red!

This was a great first offroader trip. The flow was a bit freer than a junior trip. Chef Marc did a great job of pushing my boundaries, but not beyond what he thought I was capable of. There’s a couple of things I need to work on. A vehicle in front of me that is struggling on an obstacle causes me to overreact to the same obstacle. Many times this caused me to struggle more than I should’ve. On this trip I also followed too closely. This led me to have a second try, fall off a crest, and find… Read more »
