Today’s trip got off to a nice early start which meant that we were the only convoy in the area.
The warm up was medium paced but quite demanding in terms of technique and contro,l so it wasn’t long before the terrain claimed it’s first victim and our sweeper trainee was called into action. This was the first of many rescues on today’s trip.
Later the convoy was treated to some really intense bowl driving at Big Red. I’ve been to Big Red several times in the past few months, but even I was in awe at how much this beautiful Dune formation has to offer off-road enthusiasts of all skill levels.
On our way to Pink Rock the convoy established good flow and pace whenever there wasn’t a stuck or second try. The Dune chains in this area are well suited to high paced Cresting and switching. But as the pace was increased, some kinks in the armor of our convoy started to show. This drive highlighted the importance of knowing the capabilities of one’s vehicle and mastering the techniques that are taught at the various drive levels. Good technique is critical for your safety and the performance of the convoy as a whole.
Our sweeper trainee was the star of today’s drive. He was exposed to many unusual situations which helped to enriched his learning experience.
Thanks Marshall Marc, Rathica (SL), Javier (SW) and Zoubeir (SW Trainee)Â for the brilliant support and supervision on today’s drive.

This was a fruitful drive in terms of recovery techniques learnt. Each one of them was different and experiencing them in real life is enriching. I’m thankful for all the advice and explanations from our seniors and sweeper in helping me build up my database.
Drive wise I loved it. We were the only ones around and it was so peaceful. The new area near to Big Red was challenging but gratifying.
It’s always a pleasure to drive with the Fellas, keeping it compact and flowing like a river.
Thanks Preggy, Rathica, Ziad, Javier and Chef Marc. Onto the next one!
U were Awsome
Good job Zoubeir. The road is long and tiring, but very rewarding.
Very nice drive Preggy, lots of good challanges and fantastic experience gained for the team.
Happy you enjoyed the drive. I’m discovering new challenges in this area on each drive and the exploration is fun because I’m surrounded by a competent support team. Looking forward to an equally satisfying next drive.
