Red Pill – Into the Furnace
This morning’s small convoy faced multiple challenges in a demanding area.
After a steady warm up, the team entered a terrain full of tightly packed, small dunes with steep sides and sharp crests that slowed the pace. With the right amount of throttle and some excellent car control we pushed through to reach an open area with larger formations ideal for high speed side sloping and general fun!
Following a quick catch up with the Blue Pill convoy at the break point, the Fellas headed off to a nice mix of climbs, side slopes plus a few straight crests before heading in the direction of the exit point. Gradually the dunes closed up and the area became more and more difficult to traverse with multiple short steps, steep drops and extremely soft sand. Unsurprisingly, there were a few stucks and some self recoveries in this area but all were handled swiftly and the convoy pressed on.
With time running out and the temperature rising we made a quick dash to the exit to enjoy some cold refreshments and banter.
Special credit goes to Ludovic for some amazing driving today, truly impressive. Much gratitude to Ray and Javier for the support today. See you soon.
