Sunset Hunters

Everyone arrived on time today!
That’s what I’m talking about Fellas!
Mr. Tariq had his safety equipment checked as complete and received his Desert Fellas flag today, Mabrook Tariq!

We started in a more technical area with lots of straight cresting, and short side slopes. Three stucks and a few second tries in this area and that was a good warm up. We then moved to a more open area that was perfect for side slope trainning . After a break for the trip picture we moved for a nice area with very long slopes where a faster pace was set and I had a beautiful view in my mirror of the whole convoy moving as a unit, in a very nice flow and high speed! A delight to the eyes!
Sun was setting quick and we moved north for the last stop before heading to the exit point driving on 4×2 wich was a nice surprise!
Thanks everyone for joining this trip, I had a blast!

Convoy order: Tiago, Sid as Second Lead, Tariq, André, Chris, Rathica, Preggy and Salah as Sweepper.
Marko acted as Trip Supervisor and side Sweepper as well!

SID: Great job as second lead my friend, you kept a safe distance throughout the trip and very good communication on the radio. Remember, as second lead you are responsible for the distance between the cars in the convoy! So, do not feel shy to speak up if you see something wrong!
Thanks a lot!

TARIQ: Great to see you improvement man!
You had one stuck on a side slope that should not happen at this stage, DONT FIGHT GRAVITY, when you lose power/ momentum TURN DOWN!!!
After that you did great. Gods control of the car on descents, followed the track nicely and had good control on the slopes!
Remember to keep the distance from the car in front at ALL times!

ANDRÉ: Good to see you in a trip with the group again bro!
Did a great drive today and kept safe distance the whole time! Only comment I have is that when on a side slope as soon as your car starts drifting, DONT FIGHT GRAVITY, TURN DOWN!

CHRIS: Always good to see you in our trips man! You drove very well today! Remember that when someone in front of you makes a second try, you have to follow the leader’s track(today we had 3 or 4 different on that ditch, it was not easy to tell which one was the original…

RATHICA & PREGGY: good as usual!

SALAH: Thanks for being the sweeper once again Habib, I believe it was a relaxed drive for you today as we had very few stucks!

Thanks Marko for the opportunity to lead one more trip. I learn and feel more confident with each trip done!

  5. Appreciated driving as second in charge. Did my best to follow the rulebook. Will maintain focus and keep the spirit high to better up my game. The 2WD in the end was tricky yet fun. Cant wait for the weather to get better in order to social drives with the family.

  6. This could easily be the most fun I’ve had driving in the desert. The technical area was extremely well navigated and easy to follow. But as soon as that was out of the way, the pace was increased and the fun began. The entire convoy was able to maintain a very fast pace with some nice side cresting on decent sized dunes. Redbarron’s lines were a breeze to follow. My absolute favorite was the race home in 2WD. Sure, FJ was fishtailing all over the place as I put the peddle to the metal on sharp turns, but it was so much fun that I just couldn’t stop myself.
I would gladly do it all over again just for kicks.
