Sleeping Beauties Trip

Share with your friends!

Today we had lot’s of challenges. From two wheel drive until intro to cresting and switching. I must say we learned a lot and some members will never be the same. We had 2 ladies today and they were shining stars. They showed lot’s of skills and lot’s of improvement. It was quite long and demanding drive today but everyone kept focus till last minute.

We have couple stucks with recovery and self recovery, tire pop-out and we helped some guys that we found being stuck in the desert for couple hours. We sort their issue in 5 minutes with self recovery. It would be very nice to hear comment from Eisuke about this. Eisuke, thank you very much for picking up the other people’s trash (plastic bag), I saw it and hat down buddy.

OK, let me give you some feedback:

  • 2nd lead Gonzo – you accepted all comments from last time and this was your best second lead performance today. You gave me enough time and space for corrections. Next time we just need to increase volume of your radio and we will be perfect. Thanks for support you are doing, fine second lead.
  • Sweeper Eisuke – great support. You did fantastic safety briefing, very precise instructions during recovery and fixing tire pop-out. This was very nice training for you. Thank you for your support, you were very valuable team member today.
  • Stephanie – you showed lot’s of skills today, yes you are lady and you are driving better than lot’s of mans I know. Keep a good work and we will make sure to brush your skills to perfection.
  • Lina – your feeling for car is just amazing and this is what we are looking for. Good feeling and focus. I believe we pushed your boundaries today. When everything sits on place you will find some tasks much easier than before. I’m sure you will be one of the best drivers around. Thanks to your habibi Anas for support.
  • Pradeep – Buddy, you’re getting better and better. We pushed you today a little bit harder but we will spend a little bit more time together on the next training. You are picking up but I would like to see your skills cemented. We will get there for sure, it’s just matter of time.
  • Biso – you’re doing everything well. I would like see a little bit less speed but more technique. You’re good driver.
  • SkyCat – You help us a lot today playing a role of an anchor. You’re in love with speed, we know that you want to go higher, faster, better… but today you showed team spirit you helped a lot to pull your team mates. Your position today was bingo!!! That’s why we had enough space to try some new things. Thank you for that.
  • YVPILOT – you were offroader in junior level trip, hope you didn’t get bored.
  • tameralfons – you did a lot today and you are improving a lot on each and every drive. Keep doing what you doing…
  • Tarekag – from first drive when I meet you till today you’re completely different driver. Keep rocking.

Special Thanks goes to SkyCat and Stephanie for “Flag Support”!!!

I liked how you introduced cresting and switching for juniors, they all did very well.
Hope to see more similar trips in the future.

Well done to all! Nice drive… will be out for two consecutive weekends, back with some more offloading any thereafter. Cannot wait for the recovery training 🙂

  7. I hope everyone had a great weekend!
The drive yesterday was excellent. Despite it being a junior drive we escalated the level and introduced more advanced techniques.

We became the drive in 2wd mode. Some of the guys couldn’t believe we were actually gonna do it, but what success! I know from past drives that every time I drive in 2wd I learn more about my car and automatically you are a better offroader when you switch back to 4wd. I hope everyone felt the same.

We had a few second try’s, a pop out and 1 recovery. It was great experience for me helping out the team today. Shout out to Angel for bringing the flying jeep back to safety.

The episode where Marko spotted a stuck car really shows why driving in a club is the best way to enjoy the desert. The guys were there for 2 hours, were left with a broken shovel and no solutions. Clearly not enough experience to be driving alone…. We considered pulling the car out with a rope but Marko decided to disengage the traction control and let the guy self recover. On the first try (with the help of us pushing too!) he was out. Hopefully the guys learnt a lesson.

All in all it was an enjoyable morning. I’d like to thank all that took part in the drive. You guys are awesome! Look forward to meeting you guys again on the sands 🙂

  8. Thanks Marko for the drive, the area was nice haven’t been in that side before

Hi, thanks for your comment. For more action make sure you apply for “Offroader level” trips. Junior trips are level below and can be boring for ppl in offroader level.
