GPS orientation crash course
GPS orientation crash course started on time.
After a brief presentation of the topic, history, technical data and setup of our devices, we started with the first challenge.
The first challenge opened up certain questions and help us with better understanding of task.
After we asserted that everyone understood the principle of work, we started to increase the challenge.
We learned that moving towards given coordinates brings some other issues, so we had a few second tries and stuck situations.
On the end of the day all participants understood the principle and manner of movement and orientation in the desert using their GPS devices.
The training ended as planned at 9:30

The GPS crash course was a good initiative. I was always using GPS apps to record tracks only. The course taught everything from understanding what is GPS to navigating, finding a spot and sharing exact location if you are lost and without mobile signal.
I hope there will be advanced GPS courses in the future!
