Noodle Bowl

A small group of ardent Fellas braved the frigid morning temperature and gathered at the meeting point in anticipation of an exhilarating drive.

Ten minutes into the warm up the lead got crested and was promptly rescued by the sweeper Trainee in attendance. Suddenly things were not looking so exhilarating. The warm up slowed down momentarily due to the technical nature of the area, but it wasn’t long before we reached the long crests on our way to the Dune behind Big Red where the pace really picked up.

We took the scenic and pulse racing route to a balcony overlooking Big Red where the convoy took a well deserved break before tackling Big Red. Today’s  approach to Big Red was new for the convoy, but they did an amazing job of keeping the line, maintaining good safety distance  and pace all the way to the top of Big Red and all the way back down. We then proceeded to  explore all the faces of this beautiful formation before making our way to Pink Rock.

On approach to Pink Rock it was obvious that the slopes would be a mess so the high climbs along were avoided in favor of a high paced chase along the dune chains  to the west. Just before the reaching the exit we had a stuck on a high Crest which delayed the agreed end time by a few minutes, but nobody seemed to mind. In all honesty I think the convoy was thankful for the break.

Thanks for the well coordinated support Hussam (SL) and Zoubeir (SW Trainee). You kept the convoy moving effortlessly which made the trip enjoyable for everyone.

  1. First of all, I love that trip report picture!
It was an exciting trip for all of us. The cold 5 degrees was not a deterrent. Warm up was nice and steady. Followed by some good 10-15 mins periods where there were no radio comms. We were all “in the zone”.
I enjoyed the new area – the Noodle Bowl and climbing Big Red from a different access point. We all kept flowing at high speed but safely.
It was a wise decision to avoid the Pink Rock area since the terrain was treacherous due to high number of cars the day before.
Thanks Preggy for planning an exciting trip and finding new bowls and areas. Support team as always, on point for safety, comms and steady pace.
It was nice to see all the colleagues enjoying themselves. Hope to see you all on the next one!

  2. It has been awhile for me and it was good restart to join preggy trip. The briefing was well explained. Preggy managed to warm us up in 5C Saturday morning, the terrain well selected and enjoyable 😀. The recipe of noodles bowls was mix of high pace, challenges ,flavoured of safety and communication 😀. Awesome trip again with preggy.
Thanks for SL Hussam and SW zoubeir for your support.
    See you soon, stay safe

    1. it was nice to see you and Bumblebee after a long time!

      1. Thanks zoubeir, likewise my friend

  3. Due to some mechanical issues on my car I haven’t been on a drive in several weeks, I was a bit nervous to be honest knowing that Preggy likes a high pace and cresting. Turn out I had nothing to worry about, Preggy chose brilliant lines and after a few minutes and falling off the crest twice (turning down to gravity safely) I found my rhythm and the rest of the drive was absolutely bloody brilliant. Like Zoubier said there were long periods of radio silence where the convoy was moving like a snake, a very quick snake.

Thanks you again Preggy, Zoubier and Hussam. It was a fantastic day out.

The trip started at 5 c but with the mix of techniques and gradual increase of pace, and the beautiful changes of terrain, it ended well near boiling level, of excitement.

Above all for me, team spirit was high, coordination was spot on and the convoy looked like eating these bowls almost effortlessly.

Thank you Preggy, always a pleasure following your lead, thank you Zoubier for the support, thanks to the rest of the team, see you next one.
