It was a silent morning with amazing weather, so I was surprised how empty the desert was. With Eid close, many people would be traveling, which means we had most of the area for ourselves.
Embarking on a sensory adventure in Sharjah, we began our journey by skirting past the Iftar Bowl and approaching the slide slopes. With no climbing challenges on the agenda for now, our team of line dancers adopted a methodical approach, taking one step forward and two steps back, warming up for the terrain ahead.
A chilly pre-dawn morning in Badayer necessitated deflating under the light of head torches and wearing a few extra layers from the winter wardrobe.

Badayer’s fog shrouded dunes greeted us as we set out for what would be a fun filled drive for our compact but experienced convoy this morning. By the time we had finished warming up, the fog had lifted, revealing our path towards Gravity Bowl and beyond.
The off-roading community was out in full force this morning as we gathered at a popular meeting point in Badayer – the sound of tyres being deflated providing the soundtrack for the day’s safety briefing. Not to be outdone, our Desert Fellas convoy was at the front of the pack.
