Sunset drive and BBQ
With summer creeping ever closer, we knew it was time to make the most of these last few weeks of perfect weather. And what better way to do that than a sunset drive?
The temperature was just right, but the wind had other plans. As we deflated our tires, strong gales kicked up a mini sandstorm not exactly pleasant to stand in, but a blessing in disguise for driving. The fresh powdery slopes promised a smoother, more exciting ride.
With our PSI dialed in and final checks done, we rolled up our windows, cranked up the music, and blasted our way through the stormy sands. The dunes were calling, and we answered tackling epic slopes and carving through the best sandy tracks on our way to Amir’s Hill. By the time we reached our main playground, we’d covered an impressive distance and took a well earned break.
After catching our breath, we switched gears literally, crossing the tarmac to an OG spot in Al Qudra. Once a paradise of endless golden dunes, it’s now transformed into a green expanse of desert brush and grass, making for a more safari style drive. We wound our way to the lakes, where we wrapped up the adventure in the best way possible: a moonlit BBQ by the water, swapping stories over the fire.
Huge thanks to all for making this an epic day of driving, game-spotting, and sharing great food with friends all in the heart of some of the UAE’s most stunning natural beauty.
