Summer Sweat
An enthusiastic bunch of Fellas and Felicitas arrived early to the meeting point ready to sweat!
The route from Al Shiwayb to Iftar Bowl offers a wide variety of challenges and today’s team were keen and eager to try everything on the menu. The warm up consisted of some nice climbs and a bit of bowl driving to get the hearts beating. Unfortunately, one Fella faced an issue with power loss but we decided to push on.
The open terrain closed into a tight technical area which slowed the pace. Some great driving meant that there were no stucks, just a few second tries here and there. Reaching the break point, it was clear that the wind had piled a lot of soft sand in the proposed play area so the convoy moved off in search of something less tricky.
Shortly thereafter we found a great set of large dunes that offered some brilliant bowls and nice climbs – time to party! With a pop-out called, Ryan took charge of the fix while the rest of the team pushed the throttle to the floor and let the sand fly. Unable to repair the pop-out, the spare wheel was eventually swapped out so the team could move on.
With time running short and the temperature rising rapidly, we moved towards the exit with a few more hill climbs thrown in to reach the inflation point just 5 minutes behind schedule. The Summer Sweat team did an amazing job today, well done everyone! Special gratitude to Ryan for keeping us safe and guiding the self recoveries and to Sara as a great second lead. Let’s do this again!

One of the most exciting rides I had with Desert Fellas. Martin, Sara, and our super star Ryan has showered the convoy with confidence and patience that allowed us all to overcome the challenging dunes and sharp crests while adding value to our off-roading skill set. Keep it up Martin, Sara, and Ryan and looking forward to the next ride with you guys 👏👏
Thanks for the great feedback! You did an incredible job taking that aircraft carrier through the technical area and the sound of the V8 was music to my ears!!
My hands have been shaking almost all the ride … but in the end … aren’t we all here for this? 🤗 that was amazing!! Thanks to the great team and thanks also to the great crew! We were really a group of friends riding in the middle of a stunning desert!! See U soon😎
Hands shaking? Really? You showed great confidence today and drove like a superstar!
Challenging drive with the car not performing the way it should and a pop out. Still enjoyable and satisfying as usual with all desertfellas drives. Big shout to Martin and Ryan for assisting with my first pop out. Popped my cherry. Learnt a lot as per all drives and will be back to fight another day.
