I was late this morning about 30 seconds. After I quickly counted the cars I realized we are missing one, so I was not the last. Just when we started to think about the lunch Karimbo arrived, so we started driving towards deflation point. I’m joking of course, Karimbo arrived right after me … Respect to everyone for being on time at the meeting point.
We’ve been here, we’ve been there, we were sloping everywhere…
We had rain, sun and everything in between… Today was a day for sloping. We went trough all techniques of sloping in different combination with lot of repetitions and tryouts. Finally, I saw some members are changing “road driving habits”. But let’s start from the beginning.
The best way to describe drive today would be a VIP trip. A small number of vehicles, lots of technical challenges and a lots of time deal with details. But let’s start from the beginning.
First of all I would like to thank everyone who attended our Ab Initio 2 training. Just to remind, Ab Initio training by Desert Fellas is an opportunity to join our drives either you have previous desert driving experience or not. We had very nice time today and we shared a lot informations between each other, and most important we had a fun.
From today Ab Initio training is officially entry ticket to all of our furtherer members.
Good morning to everyone who just woke up 😀
The weekend officially began at the briefing at 7 AM in Al Faqa. We had the opportunity to see a few new faces and test their driving skills in the desert.
Everyone knows off-roader Mike (RumbleBee), right?
He is always here to help by giving his best to support our drives, lessons, and everything what we are doing here. Recently he has grown a lot as a driver and his support is priceless. Always on time he didn’t mind where and when is the drive. He was always there. Now we feel is time to take him where he belongs, in Desert Fellas – SENIOR level!
Half a day of action and laughter, that would be the best description of the training today. All members had a chance to get stuck with their cars and to be pulled out, or vice versa. What did we actually learned? We learned procedure in case of desert stuck and many details about it. We also learned how to lead recovery procedure…
From the day 1 with The Desert Fellas, ChefMarc took offroading very seriously, attending our lessons and drives as much is possible. It was a great pleasure to watch him grow and develop techniques at every new drive. Due to his performance we decided to send him an invitation to attend to offroader level drive.
Finally, the Bedouin Style weekend – words are powerless to express!!!

The Bedouin weekend kicked off with a chilling Offroader trip through the wide sand dunes of Al Faqa area.
We started around 2.30pm with exploring the lovely area – with 1 stuck and 1 popout. Fellas, you were doing fantastic job, thanks again!
After nearly 2 hours of driving desertfox took over the lead to bring more action into the ride after a long and realaxed warm-up. Thanks desertfox, awesome job!
Around 5pm, the group was approaching the campsite where they were welcomed with arabic coffee and tea as well as dates and snacks. It was lovely ride and thanks to everyone who joined!
