Junior level 2 (AI 14)

Share with your friends!

Under the cover of darkness and fogsome fellas found it challenging to find the meeting point this morning, which made us run behind shedule again. Next week later comers will be in for a supeise.

Briefing and trip plan out the way, convoy started warming up as the sun was peaking over the dunes. Some striaght crest pratice with a few self  recoveries showed we were out the sand for a couple of weeks.

Just as the trip started to pick up pace our second lead had a suspension failure and needed to be escorted out of the desert buy the sweeper. We carried on with increasing the pace and our sweeper was kept busy with some campers who needed help with a pop out.

After some side sloping we made our way to Amir’s hill to practice low range driving, on the way we hadn several stuck and self recovery situations for the sweepwr trainee to practice.

Convoy was managing well and we see some very nice progression but after 3 hours of driving they were tired so we headed towards the exit at a higher pace and long side slopes. On the way out we had one more pop out so we finished slightly behins shedule.

Thanks to Hussam for second lead, Preggy and Zoubeir for sweeper duties. Thanks to Marko for stepping into suport role when needed and looking forward to the awsome snaps.

See you all on the next drive.

  1. Winter will fade soon so arriving early meant enjoying some sub-10 degrees temperatures and amazing sunrise.
Today’s trip was a level up and Marshal Marc made sure the Juniors stepped up to the event. Marko’s constant encouragements over the radio finally had the convoy nice and compact.
It was a well planned learning trip.
I’m glad to have had Preggy on today’s drive as SW supervisor as 2 of the situations were a bit tricky. I feel more confident now, but will work on improving delivery time for sure.
Hope to see everyone on the next level bright and early!

Great drive this week after a gap in the junior schedule. I loved to see the progress I’m making though as some times I felt I could push more even! The mechanical issues with the drive didn’t affect things too much we all still had a great drive.

Today I felt like I was actually flying. It is amazing how you guys let us grow and become more confident about our own capacity and the vehicle we are using.
I feel that I, for the first time, can lift my sight and actually see what is in front, as the dunes, the leader in the very front, and the track continuanc. It feels like it is not that fast after all, with the knowledge that we now are getting to speed, indeed.
This all comes to the credit of our great Marchal, the sweepers and our founder, that takes the Saturday morning to give us this opportunity to develop as drivers.
    Thank you.

  4. Nice to be back on track with DF after my timeout due to car upgrades.
This was a perfect drive to get a feel for my new mods. The drive was good, instructions clear and I had plenty of opportunities to practice my convoy driving.
Only thing I would like to point out is the track discipline, being at the end of the convoy it was pretty much impossible to know which track to follow, but I am sure this will improve a lot going forward.

  5. Great Drive this week. Proper drives planning with safety and organization instructions and team building . The best you can get 💪💪💪

Foggy and cool mornings will be missed soon, so we are to make the best out of it.

It wasn’t a super lucky day for my car, but seeing you guys is lucky enough for me.

Thanks for the one and only team: Marko, Chef Marc, Preggy and Zoubier and thanks for everyone for their patience while the mechanical problem was sorted out to tge emergency exit.

Looking forward to the next one!

A great experience and I learned a lot this week. Big thanks to Preggy and Zoubair for helping me out patiently on more than a couple of occasions, despite my impatience – you gents reassured me and I am less embarrassed about making mistakes, giving me confidence in my own abilities. Thanks to all, I can’t wait for the next drive

  9. This was a good drive for me though difficult in places. I was struggling to keep up in some parts and a few bumps on the turns brought my confidence down a bit. I need to get up into third gear I think on the straights as I was struggling with the speed.

A couple of stucks and a bit of a hairy one on a steep incline were dealt with smoothly with the help of all the support and leads and am thankful for their support and good clear instructions. Personally I enjoy more the technical parts than the faster cresting.

I hope my confidence will improve in the next drive. Thanks again to everyone.
