Gravity Replay
Badayer’s fog shrouded dunes greeted us as we set out for what would be a fun filled drive for our compact but experienced convoy this morning. By the time we had finished warming up, the fog had lifted, revealing our path towards Gravity Bowl and beyond.
The sand still firm from the pre-dawn humidity making climbs and bowls that would normally be more challenging seem like a walk in the park, we made rapid progress on the planned route and took an opportunity to stop for a rest on top of one of the higher dunes, rewarded with stunning views back over the desert and a sense of accomplishment seeing what we had already conquered.
This area has no shortage of incredible dunes to play on and we moved effortlessly from one to the next, with a nice mix of high climbs and smaller more technical areas to keep us on our toes.
Iftar bowl provided one last opportunity to get the adrenaline pumping. Making the most of having the whole dune to ourselves, opening up the throttle to climb to it’s peak and the pièce de résistance; stopping in Desert Fellas formation just below the summit to take in the view for a few moments before making our way to the our exit point to inflate on time.
Harun and Tamer, you guys both drove brilliantly today – some new achievements unlocked!
Thanks to Harun for second lead, and to Marko for the support.
Ryan
